Description
Chipster VO brings an easy-to-use analysis platform for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and microarray data available for European research community. By joining Chipster VO, European researchers can easily launch Chipster virtual servers that include over 360 pre-installed analysis tools for NGS and microarray data. The Chipster server also includes a large set of ready-to-use reference data such as genome indexes for various aligners. The analysis tools can be used as normal command-line applications, or through the intuitive Chipster GUI which also provides interactive visualizations and workflow functionality. This locally running graphical client program allows end-users to use Chipster without having to log in directly to the virtual server.

Goal and description of the Chipster. VO
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Chipster VO brings an easy-to-use analysis platform for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and microarray data available for European research community. By joining Chipster VO, European researchers can easily launch Chipster virtual servers that include over 340 pre-installed analysis tools for NGS and microarray data, and it also includes a large set of ready-to-use reference data such as genome indexes for various aligners. The analysis tools can be used as normal command-line applications, or through the intuitive Chipster GUI which also provides interactive visualizations and workflow functionality. This locally running graphical client program allows end-users to use Chipster without having to log in directly to the virtual server.
The members of the VO may use the VO resources only for non-commercial academic work that utlises the tools implemented to Chipster. Members and Managers of the VO agree to be bound by the Grid Acceptable Usage Rules, VO Security Policy and other relevant Grid Policies, and to use the Grid only in the furtherance of the stated goal of the VO.
CHIPSTER VO SPESIFC RULES
As the Chipster VO has very limited resources, we ask the VO members to use the resources according to
following guidelines.
- Do not use more than 4 cores, 16 GB of memory and 100 GB of storage space. In practice this means that
you can have just one Chipster server running at a time.
- Shut down your VM when Chipster is not actively used.
- If you keep your server running for more than one month, please be prepared to provide usage statistics of your server to
the VO manager.
