Description

Provide access to compute resources for use by the UK Magneto Hydrodynamics research community provided by the DiRAC consortia. These resources are available for thise studying fundamental plasma processes associated with the generation, transport and dissipation of magnetic fields and their associated magnetic energy. The field has applications to a wide range of solar physics topics including dynamo action, helioseismology, interactions between convection and magnetic fields in the photosphere, structuring and dynamics of the corona.

hereafter referred to as the VO, with reference to use of the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI),
hereafter referred to as the Grid.

The DiRAC consortia (http://www.stfc.ac.uk/Our+Research/24710.aspx) own and give authority to this policy.

Goal and description of the ukmhd.ac.uk VO

The work of the UKMHD consortium covers fundamental plasma processes associated with the generation, transport and dissipation of magnetic fields and their associated magnetic energy. This has applications to a wide range of solar physics topics including dynamo action, helioseismology, interactions between convection and magnetic fields in the photosphere, structuring and dynamics of the corona.

Members and Managers of the VO agree to be bound by the Grid Acceptable Usage Rules, VO Security Policy and other relevant Grid Policies, and to use the Grid only in the furtherance of the stated goal of the VO.
