vo.scigne.fr is a multidisciplinary Virtual Organization operated by the SCIGNE platform, hosted at the Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien (IPHC). It provides access to scientific computing, cloud resources, and data processing services for scientific research communities in the Grand Est region of France.
Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to all members of the vo.scigne.fr Virtual Organization (hereafter referred to as the VO) with reference to the use of the EGI Distributed Computing Infrastructure (DCI).
The Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien (IPHC) owns and gives authority to this policy.
Goal and description of the VO:
The VO aims to provide general services and user support for scientific computing using SCIGNE resources, for researchers located in the Grand-Est region of France. It is a pluridisciplinary VO supporting activities in fields such as, including but not limited to:
* nuclear and particle physics
* ecology and ethology
* analytical chemistry and medical imaging
* environmental and life sciences
By registering as a user of the VO, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by the following terms:
1. You may only use the services and DCI resources of the VO for activities directly related to the work you described when you applied for access.
2. You shall not use the VO services for any unlawful purpose, nor attempt to breach or circumvent any administrative or security controls. You must respect copyright and confidentiality agreements and protect your credentials (e.g., private keys, passwords), sensitive data, and files.
3. You shall provide appropriate acknowledgment for your use of the provided resources and services. The following text is recommended (e.g., in scientific publications):
Results obtained in this paper were computed on the vo.scigne.fr virtual organization of the EGI Infrastructure through resources from IPHC. We thank EGI, France Grilles and the IPHC Computing team for providing the technical support, computing and storage facilities.
4. You shall not use the resources or services for any purpose that is unlawful, nor attempt to breach or circumvent any administrative or security controls.
5. You shall respect intellectual property rights and confidentiality agreements.
6. You shall protect your access credentials (e.g. usernames, passwords, private keys).
7. You shall ensure that all your registered information is accurate and kept up to date.
8. You shall immediately report any known or suspected security breach or misuse of the services, resources, or access credentials to the designated incident response team and relevant credential authorities.
9. You use the resources and services at your own risk. There is no guarantee of availability, integrity, confidentiality, or fitness for any particular purpose.
10. You agree that logged information, including personal data provided at registration, may be used for administrative, operational, accounting, monitoring, and security purposes. This information may be shared with authorized parties via secured mechanisms, solely for the same purposes and only as necessary.
11. The authority granting you access, as well as resource and service providers, may regulate, suspend, or terminate your access without prior notice or compensation. You agree to comply immediately with any such decision.
12. You are liable for any consequences of violating this AUP. This may include, but is not limited to, notification of your home institution and, in cases of suspected illegal activity, reporting to the relevant law enforcement agencies.
